The one major disadvantage of wool rugs is that they are pricier than any other type of rugs. Hence, these types of rugs are mainly reserved for wealthy persons only. Because of their pricey nature, rugs made from wool require maintenance and cleaning on a daily basis. In addition, like many other types of rugs, woolen rugs are prone to wearing down in spots over time. The pricey nature of rugs made from wool has made many average and low-income earners opt for cheaper synthetic fibered rugs in order to save funds.
